thats the filter that showed up when bike info was filled in. not going to buy or put pods back on getting an air box . just doing some follow up reading, and found the info that sounds incorrect.

K&N does make a direct-fit air filter for the XJ that replaces the OEM paper filter. I have one sitting on my shelf of bad ideas. The pods on the K&N page you linked are not that.

It's one thing to see bad information on a reseller's website, but I have no confidence in a product when a manufacturer's website has faulty fitment information.

K&N also claims to sell a replacement air filter for the Seca Turbo which is "custom engineered to fit your specific application." Under the description it says it fits both the Maxim 650 and Seca Turbo, which use different filters that are not interchangeable.

Actually, if you don't mind doing some hacking on the stock turbo airbox, you CAN force a standard Maxim filter in there.....and we have a parts bike to prove it. It is a very in-elegant solution though.

We do actually have foam-wrapped filters for the 650 Turbo models, it's a "rebuilt" original stock 650 Turbo filter frame with a dual-core foam sleeve that comes pretty close to replicating the proper airflow thru a new, stock, pleated-paper turbo filter.

HCP18424 Aftermarket washable foam style AIR FILTER, fits all XJ650 Turbo models. Using the OEM filter frame, a brand new re-usable/washable foam filter sleeve is fitted in place of the pleated paper core, resulting in a replacement filter that will last close to a lifetime. Foam filter must be periodically cleaned and re-oiled. NOTE: filter comes un-oiled and should be oiled prior to first use. Filter oil and cleaner products are listed further below. NOTE: a refundable core charge of $ 50.00 applies to this item, and a re-usable, same-model filter element must be returned for the core charge to be refunded. NOTE: "re-usable" means it is complete and has not been physically damaged in any way, in particular the plastic housing cannot be modified, damaged, or chewed up in any way. As an alternative solution, you can send in your original filter element to us for modification, and we will replace the paper filter media with a new foam core and in this way, you can avoid paying the up-front core charge (this service requires 1-2 weeks for service and delivery). Includes the HCP18450 filter seal.
