    Hi guys,

Some bugger put a screw into the keyhole and twisted it in. When I took it out a few things were damaged with the mechanism. With a screw driver I pushed the metal around the key hole back in (since it was pushed outwards due to the screw). But there are still 2 issues with the keyhole:
    1) The keys are able to come out while riding (and they have)
    2) Rain and muck can get into the hole

Any advice on what I can do to repair this?

Probably going to have to get a replacement, either off of eBay, or get a universal ignition switch from China.

A good locksmith will be able to replace the cylinder and re-key the new one so won't need to replace the helmet locks.
You will need to bring both the old and new cylinders in to the shop, since locksmiths generally don't do the mechanic part of the job.

you could use the parts from a used ignition lock to repair .

    Thanks guys.

Won’t getting a new ignition switch cause me to have to change the keys? With an immobiliser system in place it sounds pricey to do.

I think the locksmith option may also be pricey but I’ll consider it.

@XJ550H I’m intrigued by this. How would I go about getting parts off and replacing them myself? Which parts need replacing so I know the vocabulary of what to google?

    Thanks @XJ550H!

Based on the link you provided, it seems I just need a new key hole cover and problem solved! Do you know if it's removable and if I can just get the metal cover part from some universal ignition switch and replace it?

capjust snaps onto the lock plug may need dimples punched a little to make it tight .
maybe just change over wafers to new/used plug to makeit fit your key ,providing it has the same key style.
if it is a different style you would just get a key cut that fits cylinder

I ask because there is an excellent bike salvage place near London Ontario.
