Found a clean '83 750 Maxim on CraigsList a couple hundred miles from me. Yeah, with CA gas prices and traffic delays to cross the entire LA basin it would have been an all day adventure/expense, but I still would've done it.

I saw the ad Sunday evening, cleared the "non-essential" expense with The Boss and got an unenthusiastic nod of approval. Cool! This is where I messed up. I should have responded right then and there, but noooo.

We had plans all day Monday, and come this morning I went to my "Saved" CL listings....... and "poof". It was gone.

The listing is gone, but I still have the pics from the ad that I saved to my PC. He was asking $1800, which I was willing to pay, but I was hoping he'd accept 15 C-notes instead.

Pretty bike. That trunk is so large it looks like it's about to make the bike tip over...............

Damn skippy. I was gonna name her J-Lo, but the more I thought about it, Nicky Minaj seemed more appropriate.

Remove the fairing and trunk followed by sourcing the correct headlight assembly and necessary mounting hardware were gonna be the first things tended to. Alas, it wasn't meant to be.

What a great find! It's disappointing to hear that you missed out on the opportunity with the '83 Maxim, @7.62
