Hey, does anyone know if its possible to remove remainder of old kickstand bracket from bike & install new kickstand bracket, without pulling the motor? It looks like the inside weld is going to be too close to the engine to be able to grind away old weld & remove what's left of old bracket, & then weld new one back in. Any tips or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes I guess it's possible. cutting the old one off should be no problem. But now welding a new one on will be tricky. You will need to guard the engine from the weld (sparks, molten metal, tec.) with some type of materal like thin metal or aluminum. Welding thetab back onto the frame is going to be another matter. Just welding it to the frame will probably not be strong enough. You may have to go into the frame rail to get a good strong weld and keep the tab from breaking off when you put all that pressure on the kick stand. If your just moving it on the frame, I'd leave the original tab on the frame until you get the new one working (ya never know) I'm just sayin'. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
