leaf blowers

    just washed the bikes and thought maybe there might be some new guys here who don't know about drying your bike with a leaf blower

    Shop vac with it set to blow works great too. Or air compress.. with blow gun stern spot free and dry fast

    Drying the bike?, not a bad idea but Far more fun can be had with a leaf blower :D

    The County Sheriff that pulled me over when I was drying mine told me to use compressed air next time.

    Seriously though, a leaf blower, air compressor OR putting the hose on the "blow" side of your shop vac all do work reasonably well.

    What REALLY works is a 20-mile ride. (Not too brisk though.)

    I have been using a leaf blower to dry my bike for years. It works great on the car too, when you are done washing and drying open the doors and blow the dirt out of the seats and carpet.

    i was just thinking it might be news to some new to bike guys.
    my shop-vac sounds like a 747 taking off and couldn't blow out a candle :)

    Mine's a 30-year old HONKIN' big Craftsman 5hp that claims "150mph blowing velocity" (it says exactly that right on it) and will blow down small children with ease. :D

    But it admittedly also sounds like a 747 on takeoff... I use an air hose.

    Leaf blowers are "unitaskers." If you don't have a AIR COMPRESSOR, use it as an excuse to get one of those.

    That's a great tip.

    Don't forget the "suspend the basketball in mid air" trick while you have the leaf blower out. Great amusement for children and certain adults (me).

    Well since everyone's shop Vacs sound like a 747 How bout use a 747 then and mines a 5hp inch house shop vac its not a plane thank goose but I agree with Fitz wet bike 60mph that will dry it lol

    I just have my wife stand next to mine for 20 minutes. she has the most hot air available for me. the leaf blower works very good also
