    Hi Gang,

Almost that time of the year round here. Some more adventurous than me have already got their bikes out, but before I get mine back out on the road I am wanting to get my valve clearances checked off.
I am new to bikes as I started riding just last year and do not know a good mechanic to take my bike to, nor am I all that comfortable working on the internals just yet, so I am hoping I could find someone local (kitchener-waterloo area) to help me or do the job for me.
I did check out the How To on the valve clearance procedure, but I am still rather hesitant to do it myself as I usually learn from trial and error and would rather not have an error when it comes to the bikes engine.

So if anyone here is from the KW area and would be willing to help me out (with some compensation of course) with my XS400, I would be certainly grateful, plus it would be nice to get to know fellow Maxim riders.

    Thanks.

Do you have a manual for your bike? The valve clearance adjustment is pretty much the same, but GETTING TO them is a bit different.

That being said, you should be able to CHECK them at least without getting in too much trouble.

If you don't have a manual, I can shoot you off some scans from the book for the XS400s. PM me with your email address.

    Hey logger,

I'm in the k-dub, shoot me a PM and i can take a swing by one of these days. I've done a fair bit of work to the maxim, should be able to help you with the check, perhaps my spare shims would be of use as well.
