    Hi @Adam E

    That is a tough one - especially depending upon what you mean by "good condition".

    If you mean really nice original condition, then you're going to need to be patient and not worry too much about budget.

    If you mean serviceable, then they are out there. If I were you, I would keep an eye out on the sites like The Facebook Marketplace and The Craigslist for some sacked-out no-title XJ650R with a serviceable tank. By serviceable I mean minor damage and minor rust - some repair necessary, but not a basket case.
    Here is a good example of what I mean:
    https://www.facebook.com/marketplac...wse_serp:1806d231-a70e-477c-839a-cc4cef67c691
    Heck, maybe if you contacted that seller and dangled enough cash in front of them they might sell you just the tank. If you don't, I might!!

    If you just need a tank to get the thing on the street and don't care about what it looks like (at least temporarily) then an XJ650 Maxim tank will fit.

    Hi @Dan Gardner,

    I am looking for something that doesn't need that much work (leaks and rust, etc). I live in Maryland, so I doubt that listing will be able to ship, but I will give it a try. I have been hunting on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist, but no luck so far. Thank you for your help!

    I currently have 3 hanging in my garage.
    One is pretty much rust free but painted an awful gray.
    It would be a good candidate for your restoration
    PM me your email and I’ll send pics.
    I’ve sent 2 Seca tanks to the US before so shouldn’t be a problem

    Hello @admin and @everyone,

    I believe I almost got scammed and would like everyone else to just be aware. This person sent me pictures of the tank, and when I asked for more pictures, they sent pictures from an eBay listing instead. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2568653467...uDXl8TLabRiGkEezHwn0WcLZHS06_d2y0zoZhSI&gQT=2 - here is that listing. I am not sure who has the ability to remove someone from this forum, but just hoping others are aware. This is the private message I got. I believe @Wildabeast is probably a real person who is no longer active, but this guy who reached out to me is part of the scam. That email address was also a part of the scam.

    Yep, that sounds like a scam!

    On a happier note, we do have some good used tanks available, as well as stripe kits:

    HCP128-1U-GCU OEM original bare FUEL TANK, for 1982 XJ650RJ Seca models, correct quartz silver with multi-color stripes. Good used condition, minor/typical amount of internal surface rust, and there are some small dings/dents in the outer metal surfaces Paint and stripes have some scratches, and are faded. Does not included fuel cap, emblems, petcock, or mounting hardware, etc.
    $ inquire

    HCP128VGU OEM original bar FUEL TANK, for 1982 XJ650RJ Seca models. Tank has been completely stripped, de-rusted inside and out, primered grey, and ready for paint. Does not included fuel cap, emblems, petcock, or mounting hardware, etc. Very good used condition.
    $ inquire

    The bad news is: they aren't cheap..........you can e-mail me for more info at: info@xj4ever.com

    Also, let me know where you are located.

    Update on the tank on eBay: I just looked at little closer - there is a lot of epoxy patching that thing together. That's a little terrifying. Not that it couldn't be usable, but the level of difficultly and amount of work just went up. If it was solid metal it might be worth the $150 asking price and I would have bought it for that, but not so much with that much rust patching going on.

    that's my asking price but mine is behind the communist Canadian curtain.
    Shipping by Canada Post was almost as much as the tank
