Hi guys...I am fairly new here, I have an 85 maxim 700, I am looking for #1) used saddle bags if anyone knows of a good cheap set. #2) 12" apes. I got this bike from a member of the site. He had started a bobber project with out cutting anything just has a solo seat...working on a rear fender and relocating brake light and liscence plate. I am also interested in seeing or hearing about exhaust options you guys have. I want to rid the bike of the stock megaphone mufflers and go with something a little "throatier" I know I'll never get the rumble but just a deeper tone would be nice. I see a lot of nice and creative bikes here, great ideas and there are some very talented guys with a lot to share. So if anyone can help I'd be very grateful.

    Skram,
I have mini apes on my 750 bobber. I looked high and low for just the right size I wanted, until I found a pair of handlebars from an older Goldwing, which just happen to be 10" high (perfect) I made a pair of 4" risers to get the 16" I needed to get them just the right height. I wanted my arms tobe straight out in front of me and not higher than my shoulders when extended (state law) And they are comfortable as hell. Now I am thinking about doing the same mod to my 1100 Shadow too.
As for some more suitable mufflers, stock Harley mufflers sound pretty good and will give you a little more rumble without being loud. I have a pair from a sportster on mine now and they sound great!

For bags try WWW.jafrum.com or www.leatherup.com

They have some decent bags at great prices. You might also see if you can find a motorcycle swap meet. I have a pair of patchwork leather bags that a friend picked up for me at a yard sale for $5.

Hey skram, if you're gonna ditch the exhaust, I'd be interested in having that back... I could use it for a different project! PM me
