I think I may have posted in the wrong section, so there's one of these in the Xj Modifications forum, too. If that's wrong, sorry!

I've lowered my 82 xj650 by putting a pair of burly slammers on there, going from stock to 10.5. Removed the fenders, cut down the fame, threw a solo seat on there, so all in all doing much better for my bobber.

However, now I need to make the sidestand go at a more aggressive angle. Currently, it's standing nearly upright, and it worries me.

I'm hoping to not have to cut and weld it, as I just moved to a new town and I'll need track down a welder I trust. I've heard about grinding down the stop to get a few inches out of it, but when I looked I couldn't see what part to grind down.

Also, how the heck do you get the thing off of the bike? Mine may just be that encrusted with filth, but it looks to me like the stop is welded to the bike, making it interesting.
