Has anyone put this type of exhaust on xj550 max? Does it require a rejet? I've been look for a newer/nicer looking stock exhaust and on ebay I'm looking at around 200$ for a descent but still scratched and dented set. I'm still not sure if this is something that I want to do but I am exploring the option. Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Jim

yup and nope for the maxim
got the mac 4 into 1 on no rejeting needed. you still will want to do a few plug chops to make sure, good practice.
make sure you get the L bracket for your center stand or it will run on the chain.
also they are made for secas on the max you will need to run a bracket to support the muffler.
some come down from the shock stud I ran a bar back from foot peg bracket for a hanger.
mac is a tight fit under the bike you can drain the oil but the filter housing will not fit between the pipes so you have to pull the filter element from the housing after flipping the housing inside the pipe cage, needless to say I was not impressed with the setup or claims from mac for fitment
do you have the stock system? if you want to trade a mac for the stock I up for that.

I have the black 4 to 1 not the chrome one 299$

I agree with the oil filter issue. This is a good excuse to get the spin on oil filter conversation. The fitment is not that good but is doable.

you should see the 4 to 1 set up on my seca you have to remove it to drain the oil.
no center stand option and it pinches the clutch cable.

I made a trough out of sheet metal it sits under the drain plug and on top of the header. The trough also catches the oil from the spin on oil filter when removed.

I have to use a long extension to reach the oil plug.

I've had the Mac 4 into 1 on for years. Sure it's a pain to change the filter but the sound is awesome. I drilled some holes in the baffle (inside and outside). Everyone who knows me, knows it's me riding around just from the sound. When I drag race it at the track I take the baffle right out. People ask me if its a 900. Hahaha. Deep, deep sound! Love the Mac. Will buy another set in the future but theses have been on for many years so far.
