    I'm using their 5w40 Extreme in my GS, with no problems. MA2 rated, supposedly.

    However, it's fully synth, and I might be reluctant to use it in the XJ9, given the known starter clutch slippage problems.
    Otoh, the GS uses a very similar wedge-lock starter clutch and it simply doesn't care what oil is in it.

    They have this one too semi synthetic.

    Nothing to be lost by going for it. Mannol bike oils don't seem to include much motorcycle leisure tax.
