manual chain adjustment....how too

    hey guys , from a previous post, i realise now that is have a manual chain adjuster.... my questions is what is the procedure for the adjustment.... i know remove valve cover and spark plugs and the side cover.... what direction do i turn the chain and..... how do i move the adjuster inward

    I'm going to assume the tensioner is the same on most of these bikes. Not sure what you have but...

    You need to remove the tensioner, compress it by hand and tighten it in the compressed state. With the engine rotated to the "C" mark, reinstall the tensioner and loosed the nut on top until you hear the tensioner release. Then tighten it down using both the top nut and the lock nut.

    There are detailed instructions in the service manual. If you don't have one yet, I strongly suggest you get one.
