I am replacing my front master brake cylinder. Seems pretty straight forward, but I can't see where the wires in the picture lead to. From the bike, it appears they will disappear into the headlight assembly. But before I go tearing things apart, I thought I'd ask.

BTW, it cleans up pretty well, and the screws to the reservoir are not frozen.

Looks like the front brake light switch.

Yep, front brake light switch. Look in the headlight case for the same color wires. Wiring diagram shows a bullet connector for each with the brown wire going to a brown wire and the green/yellow into a green/yellow.

    Thanks Blue.

Do I have to remove the headlight to get in there? I am a bit hesitant at trying to realign the beam afterwards.

You need to pull the light out, but won't need to readjust.

The screws you want are in the headlight can, just behind the trim ring at 4 O'clock and 8 O'clock. Just remove those 2 phillips screws and pull forward on the bottom of the trim ring. The ring and headlamp will drop into your hands.

Or... You could pull aside the little rubber dust booty where the wires hook to the brake lever mechanism. There's a little hole there. Push the catch tang in with a small screwdriver and pull the switch out. That way you don't have to do any unnecessary dismantling (assuming your old switch still functions).
