Can't find a drill powered cylinder hone small enough to fit the master cylinder bore?

Get a hardwood dowel (I used 1/2"), split it in half the long way with a fine bladed saw (hacksaw works well), slide some fine emery cloth down the split and give it a couple wraps around the dowel.

Chuck it up in your drill, on high speed, 'sawing' the dowel in & out to create a cross-hatched pattern in the bore.

Maybe remove too much material on high speed? Good point Dave.

I used hi-speed but only until the bore appeared shiny.

We do have the correct size ball-end hones for re-finishing master cylinder bores available..........not cheap, but they work well for master cylinders that can be salvaged and rebuilt.

And no, you don't run them on high-speed!
