I have my master cylinder off the bike and the rebuild kit is on its way from OBB, but I noticed a tear in the rubber gasket that goes under the cover on the reservoir. It's basically a hole in the corner. Looks like the PO may have seated it incorrectly and caused a hole to wear in there.

Anyway, I know this part does not come with the rebuild kit, so I have a few questions:

    1. Could I repair the rubber and it still be safe to use? If so, what should I use for the repair?

    2. Is this part available to purchase on it's own?

    OR

    3. Am I stuck having to buy a whole new master cylinder?

    Home Depot.

    Liquid Electrical Tape.

Before you use this product to facilitate your repair:

The rubber Expansion Gasket has got to be Clean and Dry.

Don't use the big brush attached to the inside of the cap.
Let some drip-off that applicator into a tuna can or paper cup.
Use an ARTIST Brush and apply successive thin layers until you get the results you need.

Get another one from a boneyard as soon as you can.
