Hey does a master cylinder from a 83' 550 seca work on a 82' 550 max? If so will brake lines for a max work with the seca master cylinder?

    Thanks
    Jim

Guess I should've been a little more clear o_O ... I just got another max with a box of parts. The master cylinder is from a seca. The caliper is from for a max. So if I have a max caliper with max lines and a seca master cylinder will everything bolt up and work correctly?

yes , but the best investment you can make for your bike is NEW brake lines. you can buy standard rubber lines stainless steel lines with fittings built in (xjforever)or buy hoses and add the fittings (bike bandit) or the 1 line from caliper to mc and fittings as another member has done (50$)
do you know how old the lines are?

Already have ss lines on my first bike. Just got a seca and another max. New lines will b ordered from Len for the max. The seca already has ss lines. The max didn't come with a mc I don't think. All I saw was a mc for a seca in a box. Pics will come soon on a new thread.
