    does anyone know were I can buy some matte black paint. Or is it just black then a matte finish

    Should be able to get some from an auto parts store in a spray can.

    Hardware stores in WI sell 500* ceramic engine enamel by DupliColor in "Low Gloss Finish" Check around, you should be able to find it.(If this will work for you)

    matte is usually called satin, flat is flat...there is a difference

    Its good to keep in mind that the flater the paint the less durable it will be, so the prep work becomes even more important

    you could go either way a matte black or black than do a matte clear coat over it to help protect the paint.

    Duplicolor's "low-gloss black" engine enamel is a DEAD RINGER for the semi-gloss black Yamaha used on things like valve covers and wheels.
