Does anyone have photos of the routing for the vacuum lines on the XJ700 carbs? I am particularly interested in the one that comes off the outside of the #1 carb for starters....where does it go? I already have the tank and petcock lines attached.

NC model? Check to see if there's an emissions canister located behind your right side cover. If so, one line goes to the carbs, and the other to the tank.

If that's the case, and you have a hose going from the tank to said canister, would it be possible to trouble you for a picture of this valve? I don't seem to have one on my XNC, and I'd like to know where it's supposed to be.

i already have the petcock valve and the canister routed...i have a total of 4 lines off the back/bottom of the carbs....2 overflow and 2 vacuum lines.....they are sucking air and keeping my engine from running smoothly when i start it. I have to choke it to richen the mixture so it will run

Hrmph. I don't know, then; I've got the X, and you've got the "airhead" (aircooled) model. I've got the two overflow lines as well, but I've also got Mikuni carbs vs your Hitachis. The hose barb on my #2 carb (that hooks up to the canister) I capped off after I unhooked the hose.

A quick peek at the service manual for your NC reveals this: in the carburetor overhaul section, Step 2 calls for the removal of the drain hoses, the fuel hoses, and the throttle cable. I read that as multiple fuel hoses...?

In any event, I'd still be interested in a pic of where your canister connects to your tank.

    Whereabouts are you located?
