Key switch = On which illuminates cluster lights and tail light, but not the headlight. Press start button and absolutely nothing happens. Any ideas about where to start trouble-shooting?

Side note. This electrical problem happened the other day while trying to start the unit. After the 3rd or 4th attempt to start, which was turning the motorcycle over, the no start issue occurred.

you may have safety relay or switch problem
remove the side stand relay to see if the sidestand switch is your problem
Sidestand (kickstand) relay (blue): behind the left frame side cover, on the plastic regulator-rectifier mounting plate.

could also be fuse issues. test voltage at the clips for fuses both sides

does oil light come on when starter button is pushed?

next remove the right control and cleaning starter button with electrical contact cleaner. spray wipe push in button clean some more then spray with a little silicon grease
if headlight is not coming on starter button may be dirty as the headlight is controled by starter button.

remove the side stand relay to see if the sidestand switch is your problem
Sidestand (kickstand) relay (blue): behind the left frame side cover, on the plastic regulator-rectifier mounting plate.

hook meter to battery do a voltage drop test should have over 12 volts to start with . does voltage drop when button is pushed?

can you jump solenoid with a screw driver and make starter turn?

clean battery connections to soleinoid clean both the cable ends .

is your run/kill switch in the off position?

on my 750 max switch is easy to shut off. I hit mine by accident when getting on/off bike???

do you have a meter or a test light?

1 unplug the connector of the solenoid hook meter to battery negitive. other end to harness connectorred/white wire. see if you get 12 volts with key on bike in neutral
you should see 12 volts or light should light. you are checking ignition voltage with this test .
2 hook meter to blue/black wire and positive of battery . key off . press starter button you should get 12 volts or light should light. this will tell you problem is in the starter button circuit.

3 with solenoid connected. hook meter to negitive of battery see if you have voltage at solenoid bolt then put to starter side bolt turn bike on and press starter button see if you get voltage from solenoid output side to starter. . no voltage bad solenoid low voltage bad solenoid contacts or starter..

Bike is running now after fuse change
10 amp ignition fuse is discolored on one end, but the middle part is still intact. Oddly it still checks good with an ohm meter. This was one of the first things I checked the other day.
The headlamp bulb is blown and only checks good on high beam.
Thanks for the advice and now I have a few more things to check if this happens again.
