So I'm in limbo, sorta... I have been cleaning the carbs and am ready to assemble them but the float height is a concern. How many mm are the floats on these BS33 measured at?

    On the BS32 & BS34 they're 22.4mm

I don't have a tool to measure fuel levels with these carbs, they don't have external nipples to attach a hose to, you need a unobtanium sight gauge where the male plug fits into a female hole in the carb. So I'll be content with knowing what the float height measurement is as shown on the contact levels above.

    Idears?

My XS850 has Hatachi carbs that don't have a place to connect a hose either. I took out the drain plug and screwed in a pointy spout from a small oil bottle (it cut its own threads as it went in) and connected a hose to it. It took some scrounging to find something that would work.
    Good luck.

Chacal sells the fuel drain adapters.
I used 1/4 in fuel hose with shrink wrap around the end to fit the hole. Works pretty slick...

Back before I did the fuel level writeup, I made one up for my X by following the directions on HAP's site. It involved using a cap from a tube of caulk.

Whatever gets it to the proper level.

    Links ahoy:

Maximum Maxim-X (find the homebrew fuel level tube here)
Cleaning the Mikuni Carbs (Took the article from the XJCD and added pictures)
Setting Fuel Levels (shows the press-in nipples for the Mikuni float bowls - works much better than a cap)

You'll have to start out by setting the height measurements, then make any final adjustments with a wet test.

I have the tools you need, and being fairly close to you, I would like to offer assistance in getting them set up.

I've sent a PM with my phone #.
