Hi all I've got a 85 xj750 maxim x , got her running well and looking good:) 1 problem is the brakes , their pants ! Had the same problem with a fzx and xv 750's does anyone know any other calipers that will bolt straight on ? I put fzr400 rr sp calipers on the fzx and with no other changes the brakes went from hopeless to excellent , hoping for same result on the xj cheers Paul

If FZR 600 calipers fit that means R6/R1 will fit. I put some R6 calipers (non radial) on an FZR600 with S/S lines (Galfer, DOT approved is my choice) make sure you match the Master cylinder as well.
    Cheers, 50gary

    +1 to both.

Braided lines make a huge difference. I have not updated to the blue-dot calipers, but it's on my to-do list.
Yamaha was very good about gradually updating critial assemblies without changing mounting dimensions very often.
