    Hi All,

I have been reading through all the posts on cleaning Mikuni Carbs, including some excellent detailed instructions with photos.

I am going through mine now because they're off the bike in order to do a valve adjustment.

Removing the floats to get to the float valves underneath involves driving a small pin from the two posts on either side of the float. The great danger is breaking off one of the posts. There has been a lot written on how to do this, but there's always a chance that things will go badly.

Here's my question: Should I just skip this one step to avoid the 'breakage risk'? I have not had any problem with the way the bike is running and have no reason to believe there's a problem with valve.

On the other hand, if I break off a post I'm in trouble big time.

    Any opinions?

On another note, I had to extract one of the float bowl drain screws and it's no longer usable. Anyone know where to get replacements?

    Thanks.

Yarezo, I carry both the original and replacement allen-headed carb bowl drain screws in stock, drop me a note for all the details.
