    Good morning.
    Perhaps a stupid question!

Last fall my speedo started "whining".
When I checked, the fitting was loose @ the axle.

I removed the cable, cleaned and applied cable ease.
The fitting @ the front wheel is a little gritty.

Should I remove the front wheel, clean and re-grease the axle?

I would, especially if you've never done it since taking ownership of the bike.

    Good,
    Thanks.

Is there a grease nipple or do I just repack it.

The bearings are shielded, but can be repacked with a needle. The speedometer drive can be disassembled, cleaned, and regreased.

    Thanks.
    Next job! :)

But I am having trouble getting the Axle bolt off!.
Removed the brakes, removed the "tightener" on the right side, removed the speedo cable.

Cannot get the axle to release!
Do I just need a longer socket handle and a mallet? lol
