maybe I'm too much into XJ's (or the story of the Seca w/ 300K miles on it))

So we were coming back from a farm that we recently purchased in north central Wisconsin. We stopped in Stevens Point to fill up the tank on our rusty old F150 and to fill our bellies with some road food. Pulled into a food place and immediately I exclaim; "It's a SECA!". My wife rolls her eyes. I park the truck and hop out and bee line over to it, she looks beautiful, well cared for and loved.

Step inside the restaurant and there are 3 customers; well I have to talk to who ever owns it. At first I was just going to loudly shout out "Who owns the Seca?" but thought better of it. I see two guys at the counter and one guy sitting in a corner eating . . . I picked the guy in the corner, approached and asked - "Is that your Seca?".
"Yes, yes it is I am the original owner and she has more than 300K miles on it" At first I was like - no way, but 30 + years of owner ship 10k a year, it is certainly possible. He then went on to explain how he would ride out to his sisters place in North Dakota once or twice a year and on top of that he explained all of the shunpiking he would do around the state. So 300K is very realistic. Next we start talking maintenance on XJ's, he does most of his own work.

So I ask the big question:
    "Are you familiar with XJBikes.com?"
"No, I don't have the internet."

We talked for a very long time and finally had to part. It was a hoot and I am blessed that my wife was acceptant of my XJ Boner as we walked out to the parking lot with the guy, took photos and he fired her right up and drove away.

I hope that you got contact info. Hogfiddles would like the VIN for his registry.
I like that he has what appears to be a period-correct wind deflector above his windscreen.
