    GOTTA LOVE IT.

46F ("feels like 43") on Friday morning when I left for work (rode!) and 85 at quitting time.

Saturday got up to 86F by early afternoon; then this happened:

    It wasn't officially a tornado, but it sounded like one;

Since it was three in the afternoon, my son wasn't in bed...

Nobody was hurt, the garage is fine, but it sure put a 'ding' in an otherwise decent weekend; that and the power was out for about 30 hours...

Wow. Looking at those pics, I'm glad to know you and your family only got shaken up a bit and no one was injured.

WOW Fitz - glad no one was hurt. What a mess.

On a lighter note that looks like my son's room on any given day and much cleaner than my daughter's room. :)

Now the real fun begins - dealing with the contractors and insurance to get it fixed. Was the tree rotten at all?

    HOLY CRAP. Glad everybody's ok.

We had a willow come down in our backyard overnight last summer. There was a minute of utter confusion in the morning when I let my dog out, looked out the back door and said to myself, "Huh, the backyard seems smaller than usual..." Wiped my eyes and looked again and it went more like "Hooo crap, I'm glad it wasn't the other tree (which would've taken out my bedroom)!"

But yeah, I hope your homeowner's is paid up!

Sorry to hear (I can't see it) of your misfortune. Glad everyone is Okay.

Sorry this is a weird place to ask this questions, but does everyone else see pictures in BigFitz's post? I get this from time to time on the site where people are talking about pics, but I don't see them. There is also not a little box with an X in it where a pic didn't down load. Is this common or am I the only one?

glad only some material damage and not familial...

youre right the weather sucked something fierce saturday...

the power lines running along the road were 'dipping' horizontally and the winds were blowing the water out of the cracks and holes in the pavement...

i didnt get anywhere close to a bike...

man that sucks glad you and yours are ok. About two blacks away from me a tree came down and took off a side of the top floor of a house. We drove by soon afterward and you can see right in chairs table and all. took a bit jagged chunk out of the roof as well. We had a few snall branches come down in the back yard but nothing near that big and nothing got hit.

    Glad you are okay!!

As I recall, Lansing is the cloudiest capital in the nation.

KTCubed, I think we are all seeing the pics but you. That red 'X' represents your browser not loading the pic for some reason. It may be a security setting or it may be that his pic is posted on a different server and your browser doesn't allow the third party connection.

There are other reasons, but those are the easiest/most likey from my experience.

Fitz, good news that the family is ok. Pity about the house, but that can be repaired/replaced. You can't.

Hope the insurance doesn't try to screw you too hard.

Yea, that's just it, there is NO RED X BOX. Nothing indicates there should be a picture there at all. It happens occasionally on this site, but not always. Just no pic where other indicate they can see one. Strange.

    Fitz,
glad the family is OK. That storm came all the way up here to Canada too. I had no Hydro for 2 hours. Just my little generator kept us watching TV.
