Middle Gear Sump Drain Plug Removal

    :( Well I went and did it, when I was tightening up the plug, Yup wrench was set and correct spec, I managed to have it shear off, now I need to remove it. My local shop said I could for the time being leave it there and put some silicone in the hole, but I need to get it out and a new one replaced. :(

    any suggestions on getting it doe, (with out more damage), I'm looking at drilling a small hole and using an easyout. :cry:

    If the bolt head sheared off then I would try a reverse drill bit if I had one. The ez out should work though.

    Since it's not a real requirment to drain the oil from here, a Mechanic in my unit suggested using JB Weld and to just cover it up. Good or Bad, don't plan on removing it if I don't have to

    JB Weld will hold up. Silicone....well not as well.
