Does anyone know the proper placement for the main jet o ring in the mikuni bds26 carbs? When I took mine apart the o ring fell out of the middle of the main jet holder. I just want to make sure I put the new ones in the correct place. Does it go in the main jet body before I screw it back in to the carb body or does it go in the top of the main jet holder before I screw in the main jet? Thanks.

    Yes. 1993 seca II.

The thing that is throwing me off is does the o ring just get squished in the jet holder body where the jet threads in and as the jet is screwed back in it pushes the o ring down to where it needs to be? Or..does it actually go on the jet before it's screwed back in. There a section on the top of the jet right under the head where there are no threads. Looks like it might sit right in there.

I can't find anything on the forums or web about this except the pic.

This is the pic I found in another forum. They said the o ring goes in first then the jet screws in pushing it down. That just doesn't sound right to me. I don't see a "seat" or anything that the o ring would sit on inside the holder. They're probably right it just seems weird to me.

Oil the ring and see if it pops in to where it needs to go.

Oh it goes in. Just sits on the threads though once you screw in the jet. Just a weird setup I guess.

If it's sandwiched between the flat of the jet and the flat on the holder, it should be just fine.

That's what's confusing me. There is no flat of the holder. If it wasn't as snug as it is, it would fall right through. Maybe it squishes between the bottom of the jet and the jet tube which the jet holder goes over. I dunno. I just did what the diagram said. We'll see.

Well, they're all back together and she's running fine. Thank you all for the responses.
