Can a set of mikuni carburators for seca 900 1983 fit easily to a XJ750 seca 1981?

They are nice carbs, as any 900 Rider will attest too ... as for fitting them to a 750?

Everything is larger, across the board. They won't bolt on and scoot.

Manifolds, Jetting and Air Cleaning Pods just to start thinking about it.
I don't recall anybody ever doning it. Not that I can remember ... from two forums; but there's always someone with talent and ingenuity that makes projects like that happen.

Personally, the amount of experimental-type tuning to get them to feed the smaller 750 might be quite extensive.

I'd much rather have a 900 Engine and Carbs nested in the 750; first.

If easily includes some minor fabrication and what will likely be a long re-jetting process, yes.

The good news is that the carb-spigots' spacing should be the same or so close it won't matter. The airbox side may bring its' own surprises to the party, and don't count on just popping the Mikunis into the 750's spigots and tightening the clamps before riding.

Then you get to find out how much fun it is to re-jet oversized carbs...

The answer to questions like this, now ... when we have machines that will fabricate a dozen finished parts in the time it used to take to make the first few cuts on a piece of stock ... is: Yes. It's possible.

But, after you get them on there ... the cursing begins. Because, as we have seen so many, many times before.

The engine and carbs are already close to Maxed-Out Performance. Even though there are Kits available to add a relatively small amount of higher performance; there's always a trade-off that you have to live with.

Maybe your kit gives you some extra Top-End performance. You might have some issues coming-off idle and waiting for the mod's to kick-in.

Maybe its the Mid-Range you're looking to improve. Getting a little more Honk off-the-line, messes-up the way the bike idles.

You need a lot of patience when you do performance-related mod's and carb work. The frustration's, all too often out-weigh the successes.

That's why I don't suggest doing much more than adding the next Main Jet up for big guy's like me.
