I have a 1982 XJ 750 Seca, (Imported from the U.S), that was brought as a non-runner some time ago I have finally got around to doing something with it. From reading the forum I see it should have Hitachi carbs but it has Mikuni’s on it. Before I remove & strip the carbs for cleaning what should the jet sizes be? Is there any way of identifying what model the carbs are? From their insitue position I cannot see any id marks other than those cast into the body.

I'd guess you have a set of "Twenty-eights" on that Bike.

    The Jet sizes?
Who know's ... If the PO swapped-over to Mikuni's it's probably because they required Re-jetting for Pods or Exhaust and the Mikuni's are a little bit easier to Fine Tune and Jet.

It has the stock air cleaner, though I intent to junk it and put on individual air filters, and the pipes look stock, 4 into a collector then into 2 conical end cans.
The bike has been messed about with in other areas so why not in the carbs as well. Am just looking for a starting point.
Pods & Twenty eights????? :? please explain.
