Mikuni Pilot needle initial setting?

    How many turns out from closed should I start for an initial setting?
    Mikuni 28mm carbs on a 1983 XJ550K Maxium. The manual just says factory preset and does not give an initial setting. 1.5? 2? 2.5? Carbs have just been overhauled/cleaned.

    start em at 2.5 and go from there.
