    After looking at the minimalist wiring diagram, I was wondering..... what I want for my Seca550 is bare bones, but with oil pressure, neutral lights. What's the deal with the diode? I have started and still don't know, do you include the hi-low light switch or just rig it to run it on hi beam? Any one that has done this project do you have any photos of your harness?

    I have no experience, but . . .
    It's oil LEVEL, as in LOW level warning,
    If you have a chopper, and are going "bare-bones" - you don't need a neutral light. You just know.
    A lot of guys will just run a single element light.
    You can't legally just ride around on "high"
    Check your state for mandatory turn signals.
    You have to meet your state's requirements. Talk to a motorcycle cop.
    The "minimum wire harness" posted here does not address any legal issues.

    I want a neutral light for my wife. I told her she can ride it since I sold her bike.
    I know about all the particulars of the laws here, no blinkers, one mirror on the left side,headlight on at all times.

    Right and Left Side Covers from a 1981 Yamaha XJ650 Maxim. Both covers are in very good condition and the tabs are perfect. One Cover is missing the pop in "Maxim" badge. They are very nice but are over 30 years old and have some small scratches and light fading. It is hard to find a matching set this nice. Should fit 1980-1982 XJ650 Price is $75 for both (selling as a pair)
    You can see photos at;

    I have a 1981 XJ650 Maxim I am parting, so email me for anything you need.
