Getting ready to start an XJ550 motor on the stand. Have Pickups / ignition coils / CDI box to wire up. Pretty sure I have the schematic understood, but was wondering if anyone knows how much current draw I should expect. I want to fuse it on the stand so that any irregularities will cause the fuse to blow, an not burn up any components. Thanks!

Yes and thanks! I saw where all the fuses in that diagram were 10amp, so Was thinking that they were a generic selection. Was hoping somebody had actual current draw for a healthy bike and that circuit.

    main fuse is 20 amps
    signal fuse is 10 amps
    headlight fuse 10 amps
    ignition fuse 10 amps
even on the min wiring diagram.

your meter should have am amp tester typicaly 10 amp max.
what you could do is start with a 5 amp fuse then go up to a 7.5 amp fuse if the 5 amp fuse blows, then up to 10 amp if needed. it is not like you have many choices.

if the wires aren't right you can ruin things with one amp, on the other hand if the wires are right, you won't need any fuses.
just make sure the wires are right

a dead short on the correct wires will burn things up with out a fuse. you at least need a main fuse
