Yes, but there are reverse (left-hand) threads on the right side mirror...

Are mirrors Universal? If I were to pick up a set from a... lets say, a Yamaha V-Star would they work? I'm looking into finding new, stylish mirrors and dont know what'll be best for my XJ700

Careful about what mirrors you get.
I bought a bigger set for mine when I first got it. The posts were bent different and the mirror head mounted to the center. The stock mirrors are mounted to the post on the inside edge (if you know what I mean).
SO, the new "larger" mirror I bought sat about 2" closer to the center of the bike and the only thing they were good for was checking to see that my chin strap was secured. I couldn't see a damn thing behind me.
Make sure they sit far enough to the side of you to be functional.

Emgo make a replica to the stock mirro and you wouldn't even know the difference...$22 a set or so I think.

    These are on E-bay
