Any way the baffles in the stock pipes on my 650 Maxim could be modified/removed? I like the look of the stock megaphones and there is nothing wrong with mine, just wanting to see if I could make them a little bit louder/change the sound a bit, but it looks like there is no real way to remove or modify the baffles without really hacking the whole thing up? Has anyone attempted to get them apart before?

If your pipes are in good shape don't start cutting. Find some other ones to cut up or find a slip on tail pipe to see if you like the noise.

I believe that every vehicle owner has a moral imperative to ensure that their vehicle is as quite as is reasonably possible. Your right to enjoy a loud vehicle stops at everybody else's right to quite enjoyment of our shared public spaces. But I live in the city so maybe it is different when you live in a remote area where there is nobody around to disturb.

The stock pipes do look nice so yeah I don't want to cut them, I was just wondering if maybe I'd get lucky and like some moped/scooter pipes there was a way I could just pull the baffles out and mess with them without hacking the pipe up, but it looks like that's a no. I do like the look of the megaphones, but the comments about slip ons reminded me, a local thrift/junk shop around here has some sportster clamp on mufflers I could probably get for next to nothing and see how I like them

Not trying to go for straight piped Harley, wake people up in their beds loud. The engine/transmission/shaft drive on my Maxim just makes so much normal mechanical sound it would be nice to hear my exhaust a bit :p
