I have been thinking about moving my starter button somewhere on my bike, not sure where yet. I was wondering if it is possible to do this along with getting rid of that entire cluster by the throttle. It does seem that the throttle cable runs through the cluster so am wherry as to weather or not I can be taken off completely.

I need to put this in my signature, my bike is a 82' Maxim 650

The throttle cable attaches to the bottom of the control box, so you should be able to do that mod. What are you going to do with the on/off switch? Its nice to have it by your hand for emergency shutoff situations.

I did this to my bike. I moved the starter button to side of the reflector housing so its easy to hit. Everything else i just hard wired together to get rid of the run/stop side and used an r6 throttle to get rid of the whole assembly. I may put a kill button back on and ill take that off a dirt bike so i can keep the area clean.

If you relocate the ignition to the side, be sure to angle the key slightly upwards so the key doesn't fall out. That happened to a member in the past. Older ignition switches can be loose.

My key will come out in the 'on' position with just a little jiggling, here here.
