I came across this website the other day after i was searching for parts for my seca. It's an 82 that was completly stock when i bought it ($350) and it ran i rode it down the street lol. but it was a little rough so i parked it in the grage and started teardown. im curious if anyone has done an actual seca 650 bobber i see a lot of 750's and maxim but not many seca's??? any pics or anything would be great thanks for the help you all seem very mature and very helpfull

Didn' we just have a thread that indicated many of us are over 50 (mature in years but still riding the good life)?

Mine used to be a Seca much like yours. Mines a 750 Seca (shaft drive) but pretty much looked the same as yours (mine was ugly grey/silver paint.
*Now after getting rid of the square headlight and replacing it with a round one (Suzuki headlight mounted on Kawasaki fork mounts)
*Replaced the stock Seca gas tank with a Maxim tank (nicer looking, better shape)
    *Homemade side covers (aluminum)
    * Replaced the ugly square, depth finder looking gauges with just a lone speedometer off of a CB350 Honda (more accurate than the stock one!)
*New handlebars off of a Goldwing mounted on 4" risers.
*Replaced the stock rear fender and tailight with a Harley bobbed fender with a 6" LED truck tail light and bullet signals in the rear.
    * Replaced rear signals with after market smaller ones.
*Repainted bike black with red pinstripes.
    *Painted wheels red
*Replaced seat several times over the years. Now running with a seat from a Harley Sportster (solo)
*Got rid of the stock foot controls (poor location for me) and made my own forward controls with mini floorboards.
*Cut 1" out of the rear shock springs to lower the rear.
*Changed the rear wheel with one off of a Maxim (went from 19" to 16") which lowered the bike even more and gives me a fatter tire too!

*Added a windshield and lowers to keep the airflow controlled better.
*Added grip heaters under the new grips for cold weather riding (so nice)
*Added 300w amp and 5-14"speakers to power my Walkman radio. I mounted the speakers to the back of the windshield by using the windshield screws to hold them in place.
*Replaced the mufflers with stock Harley mufflers (Sportster I think?)
Other mods include a cigarette lighter, small cup holder, and driving lights (not on at the moment to be replaced with chrome ones)
I run all my accessories with relays (ie: amp, lights, heated grips and cigarette lighter)
I'm now in the process of bypassing the wires to the headlight, coming from the starter switch, using relays coming right off the battery to save the starter switch from burning out (normal wear and tear on these bikes)

There's no end what can be done with a little ingenuity and patience (and parts!) It's never "done" with me. I find I'm always changing, removing or adding something on this bike. What started out to be just a bobber, ended up being a bagger/cruiser now!

I suppose I could install a 10" woofer in one of the saddlebags to get that bass feeling when I ride! LOL
It does turn some heads when I pull up to the stop lights with some good ol' rock & roll blaring away. People look around and wonder where it's coming from.
