Four months ago I rescued a Akita puppy from the local animal shelter. You know how puppies are, chew on everything.
Today I felt pretty good so I went out to my workshop to put a new coat of paint on the bike. Sometime during the joy of sanding, my bike key fell out of my pocket.
I searched for an hour, looked all through the shop, in the grass around the shop door, all over the house and in the cushions with no luck. Heading back out to the shop, I saw something shinny. Bent down and picked up a small wrench. WTF? Turned around to see the dog lying next to the door chewing on my key. After chasing the dog around the yard, I got my key back without any damage. Good thing she didn't swallow it or I would've had to follow her around with a scoop for a couple days.

Man can I relate! I have had two dogs that love/loved to take my tools or parts when I am working on something. I find it amusing when it happens to someone else - not so much when it happens to me.

My kids use to do things like that. I would find my tools in the strangest places. I once found my car keys in the freezer, no one would admit to putting them in there.

I'm going to leave the dog inside while I'm in the shop from now on. There's no telling what else is missing, guess I'll find out with the lawn mower.
