    Just wanted to share this.
I randomly saw this on the Internet the other day:
It was like looking at a picture of your first girlfriend (and of cause that could be fun too).
Mine was from 1951 and I rode a lot of kilometers on that bike.
I bought it from my math teachers husband in high school and had it for several years when i went to college.

    Description:
The flat steel strip frame was a feature in common with the “stove pipe” it's predecessor:
But most other features were totally new: the top half of the crankcase was cast in one piece with the ribbed air cooled cylinder block.
The iron cylinder head sported an overhead camshaft.
The crankshaft drove the overhead camshaft through the upright mounted dynamo via sets of bevel gears. 12,715 were produced between 1934 and 1959.
This Nimbus is a real touring motorcycle; it provides 18 HP @ 4,000 RPM, max. speed 130 km/h. It is a pleasant and unusual design with a good spares situation even today.

So 2 crazy norwegian guys bought 2 of these 70 years old bikes with sidecars and travelled all the way round the globe (70,000 km) 2009 - 2011.
    You think I'm lying?

    TRUE STORY:

Some years back, we're on the 401 outside of Toronto on our way to Barrie, ON for a vintage bike rally.

My buddy and I are in his pickup truck, with tools, camping gear and a bike in the back, towing a trailer with two bikes on it. We've pulled to the side because we'd broken a muffler mount and my buddy had crawled under the pickup with some baling wire to remedy the situation. Traffic is boiling by at 70+MPH.

    IT'S POURING RAIN.

A motorcyle draws to a stop, and the rider shouts an offer of assistance over the roar of the traffic and spray.

The guy's riding an old Nimbus; exposed valve train happily clattering away in the downpour. He's wearing a traditional Belstaff suit, "pudding bowl" and goggles; water is runnning down his nose and streaming off (not dripping) it's raining so hard.

And he's pulled over to offer US help.

I've since learned I shouldn't have been surprised; Nimbus riders are a special breed. I think it's like with certain British bikes; something just gets in your blood and never goes away.

From innovative bikes to VACUUMS? Markie, go in there and straighten them out! Any company that can produce a machine that will cause people to act like that guy in the rain in Fitz's story, needs to go back to making those machines!!

    desmo valve actuation.....sweet
