What bike you got again? I know it ain't AGM but the correct battery for my bike (XJ900 type) was/is a very tight fit in the batt. box, requiring the back of the tank lifting to squeeze it in.

It's again about 1/2-3/8" taller than the dead old one, same code on it though...Have batteries in general got bigger for some reason? :?

Huh... Have you compared the code on the battery to the one listed for your bike? packing error? :? Big company like that you'd expect better but mistakes happen I guess, maybe if it IS the one listed you could ring them with the dimensions of your old battery & get part refund & replacement?

motobatt mb12u says total height 175mm.
12n124a total height 160mm. about 1/2 inch diff
the motobatt says it comes with a 14mm spacer. is there anything on yours?

Bummer... Refund time methinks, with a free battery to your dimensions for providing them with the measurements to correct their lists & your wasted time?

You'd expect better really! I wonder, like you originally said, if anyone else has had problems...

EDIT-: so what you're saying Polock, is there may be about 1/2" of spacer that could be removed?

Wow xj forums rocks again . I work nights and awoke to the door bell and my battery delivery . i ran to the garage half asleep and tried to put battery in box and it would not fit . Not untill i read your comments did i take it back out of the box and this time the spacer at the bottom fell off . Fits like a dream now ... Guess they might want to let folks know with some instructions that the spacer can be removed ...............looks like the sunny sunday we have coming will also have a seca riding through it ........thanks so much guys !!
