last year my my bike ran fine with no starting problems. This spring is different. AS I was trying to get her going my starter would make a disturbing grinding noise. Then all I got was no starter engine movement, and a click sound in the relay. I put in a new battery and the same thing happened. The starter doesn't work and I get a loud click in the relay.
    What gives?

Could be the starter or relay. Grab a volt meter and see whats up. Battery could have low voltage too, even a new one.

Try this: Press the starter button, and while you're holding it, tap gently with a hammer on the starter on the left side of the bike. If it starts to turn over better, and not just 'click', then your starter needs replaced. Hope this helps.

PS - If it is the starter, don't buy a new one from the factory as they are 360 dollars! Yikes.. You can get rebuilt ones with a year warranty for about 150-170.
