Need 1983 Maxim 750 tach

    Mine looks nice and pretty, still a bright red redline, but even after a cleaning the needle doesn't move much. I hope someone out there has one that works that they would part with. Has anyone ever pulled the needle and faceplate off one successfully? I ask this in case the replacement is sun faded.

    83 tach is the same as 650 maxim
    I have a few of them if you can’t find one local

    No experience with pulling the needle but I have read on this site several instances of destroying the tach trying.

    I think there is a caution about the faceplates in there, but just be aware the paint used is very easily damaged - even isopropyl alcohol will strip the paint right off.

    Post a picture of the internals I may be able to suggest a way to check just the meter movement.
