Need a stripe kit

    OK gents and ladies i need a stripe kit for my Blue 1983 650 :?
    I have found kits for the silver and the red bikes but not the blue ones. The stripes look black, sliver and white :? i think :lol: Oh and also the Yamaha red or black?? decal for the tail.

    have you tried ebay.uk they seem to do a lot of decal kits for most bikes

    No i haven't but will try that right now :D

    and Len from XJforever only has the stripes for the silver and red bikes from 1981-82:(

    You might contact Reproduction Decals. They only show decals for the red and silver Seca 650, but I have worked with them before to get decals made with a different color for my XS750.

    I'm not sure what the cost would be, but maybe it would be easier to go to a body shop and have the stripes painted on. Just a thought.

    These decals look alot like the ones on an RZ350. Could it be? I have never heard of a blue XJ650, but that doesn't mean it ain't so........

    It's a 1983 XJ650, Australian market bike. The XJ650 came in all sorts of cool schemes we never saw, including white with red stripes like the 550 Seca (sort of.) We only ever saw the 1982 USA market colors, or maybe the red Canadian scheme.

    Well the local bike painter would only do the stripes if he painted the lot :? as i can and will be doing the painting (that much i can do) and as he quoted $800 to do the lot 8O. the bike is not worth that much :roll:

    So here are the part numbers, I've had some luck with a local Yamaha dealer as he had two in stock :) But have been told that all of them are no longer available from Yamaha Japan.

    Tank - 11N-24240-00
    Seat rear cowl - 11N 24757-00
    Seat rear cowl "Yamaha" - 353-24786-02 (found one in OZ)
    Side cover LH - 11N2173E-00
    Side cover RH - 11n2173F-00 (found one in OZ)
