need help

    i have a 1981 xj 650 at half throttle it pops snd snaps any idea would be greatly appreciated

    over on the other forum i occasionally read. they say pop and snaps are indicative of a lean fuel mixture. not enough gas.

    your floats might be lean. or carbs might be plugged.

    and while others will argue with this statement. i've seen plugs that ran like a champ at idle. but misfire under a load. time for new plugs.

    or possible other ignition problem.

    Any intake or exhaust modifications done to your bike? Have you been doing basic maintenance like valve adjustments and fluid changes?A little background info will help. Carb or ignition problems come to mind first.

    IT HAS POD FILTERS STOCK EXHAUST WAS RUNNING FINE THEN STARTED THIS ALL THE SUDDEN I PULLED THE CARBS AND CLEANED THEM THE PLUGS ARE QUESTIONABLE HAVENT DONE THE VALVES YET
