Hello, all. I've been lurking in the weeds, reading messages on this site for quite a while and suddenly have a need to join. The information and the quality of posts here are exceptional, and I will try to not lower the level!

My 30 year old son just wrecked his '82 Seca 650 (non-turbo)- a woman made a left hand turn across his lane and he hit her broadside, went over her car sans bike. He got beat up a bit but essentially OK. He was dressed right, riding jacket, full helmet and it saved him a LOT of damage. The only good thing - she was insured.

The bike had pretty much what you would expect - crushed front forks, broken windshield, broken levers, broken pegs, road rash and was hauled off to be junked. Pretty sure it would not be repairable for anything like a reasonable cost. I'd worry the frame was tweaked a bit.

But, he loved the Seca and we are having trouble finding a suitable replacement. Wanted to see if anyone within striking distance of North Texas might have a low mileage one in very good shape that is or will become available? Not really interested in a project, though I certainly don't mind general maintenance.

Thanks, and any info would be appreciated.

    Welcome to you Cole!
First off, I'm relieved to hear your boy will be ok. Grrrr... lousy cagers!
Second, find out how much they want for the wrecked bike. You could part it out here and make some easy money, no kidding.
I'm pretty sure someone will be able to point you in the right direction. Have a gander of our For Sale-Parts Wanted forum.
