lit when clutch lever is pulled in and in neutral of course. i just put a 90$ omron relay from yamaha and also replaced the coil pulse generator as the grey side had no resistance. i did replace the entire assembly wires and all. Thanks to the ultimate guide to relays here @ xj forever. it was a used pulse generator but the wires were in good shape & both pulse coils had 600 ohms (like 646 each). everything works properly if the lamp is suppose to be on when the clutch lever is pulled in. But i doubt that , could my clutch lever switch at the lever be wrong for the bike possibly? it looks correct but i have not traced the wires.

Also the lamp stayed on always upon replacement until i adjusted the clutch a little tighter at the lever. now the lamp is only on when the lever is pulled or when in neutral.

fuse block is replaced with spade connectors & newer one inch type fuses. any advice?

The lamp should stay lit as long as the bike is in neutral.
