Hey guys , need to change my neutral switch , I did all ready remove it once to test by undoing left side engine mounts and levering the frame to get enough clearance to get a socket in there, had to replace it to not lose oil though while I wait for the replacement, surely there's an easy way ?

    Anyone know the proper procedure?

    Btw it's a xj900f seca 93

Proper procedure is to remove the engine. But nobody has time for that.

You can cut a socket lenghtwise so it can clear the frame and allow you to remove the switch 1/8 of a turn (or so) at a time.

Cheers k-moe , that was a great idea , to fit the new one I cut a socket in half then welded it to length of stud then ground the socket down enough to fit and make full turns in the gap and also stuck a bend in the stud.

Another homemade tool for the tool box

Finally have a working neutral light
