new bars on now stalls

    threw some left over cb750 bars on my 82 650 maxium now when i try to put it in gear it stalls ? not sure what to do clutch seems to be working fine. However i did break and remove the stump of my front break lever is this causing the issue? Also just got my new lever and there is a threaded hole on it what is this for(not talking about the mounting hole) and what is the small spring for , forgive my ignorance. thanks

    My guess would be that your side stand relay is miswired or not working correctly. That ties in with the clutch switch, so up by the clutch could be where the miswiring occurred.

    If the safety relay thinks the side stand is down, it will kill the ignition when you shift out of neutral.
