    Hi from Indianapolis...

    I used this forum a lot when my father and I were building his '82 xj1100 a couple summers ago, and found it to be a great resource.

    Now I've picked up a 1986 yx600, and I can't find any forums for that specific bike. I did find a free pdf factory service manual over on the badrad600 site, but they don't have a "forum" per say, just a yahoo users group. Anyway, I'm sure that with the radian being an "almost twin" to the xj550, I will find some much needed info here.

    By the way, I'm fairly sure that I can answer any paint and body questions that you may have, so pick my brain if you so choose...

    Matt.

    WELCOME from TN!!! Hope you can find the HELP you need here. Planning on rattle can when (and if LOL!) I ever get to that point. Paint and body gurus are always in need...

    Here's another welcome! I also have an '86 Radian, and these guys let me hang out :mrgreen:

    I combined it out of two basket cases that I picked up on CL for $300.

    Here it is, as of yesterday:

    It has an XJ750 Maxim front end, clubman bars.. Pretty much stock other than that.

    cheers!

    Nice! I bought a set of the clubman bars, but they wouldnt fit in the "upside down" position, so they will probably go on the next cafe project I do... I will probably end up with a few spares as time goes on, so let me know if you need any small things.

    Thanks for the welcome. :) I always have fun when I'm on two wheels, and I always try to ride safe, it's everyone else on the road that I worry about...

    Hey matt, just noticed you are in Indianapolis, anywhere near the track. I've been going to the MOTOGP since it started in 08.
    This is how I got there the first two years:
    [IMG]
    last year I met up with some friends and shared a hotel, lot more comfortable than a tent.
    Man, the first year there I thought I was going to get blown across the campsite.
    Cold, rainy, high winds and then ended up with a bad sunburn. Only neede snow to have all 4 seasons! LOL!!!
    OOPS, sorry, kinda jacked the thread about your bike.

    @robert

    I need some misc. spares, so I will be P.M.ing you I'm sure...

    @maxim-x:

    Sweet! I was lucky enough to score free tix for the frst gp... That bandit looks like a capable ride! I drive up to beaver house lake in Atikokan, Ontario almost every summer for a little upper boundry water pike fishing and some rowing practice if you know what I mean... so I can respect your saddle skills! :)

    Hi Matt and welcome to the forum. I have a few 86's and an 89 Radian, they are great fun, fast, responsive bikes. I also have a 86 parts bike so if you need anything PM me. Here's a picture of the one I am done with.

    Nice! I ALMOST went white with mine, but gave it a bath of kandy caribbean blue over black with microflake mixed in... I may just have to tear it back down and go for white after seeing yours... :)

    m sure that I do need a few spares, so between you, Robert, and the local bone yard, I hope I can find all of the small stuff it needs.

    Thanks. Actually it is marble gray with a pearl in the clear coat. You can only see that when the sun shines directly on the paint. Be sure to do your self a favor and get a in line fuel filter and a fuel shut off valve. I can send you pictures of how I did mine if you want. I got mine at the local lawnmower dealer. Unless you replace the fuel needles and seats they will leak.

    Hey, if any of you Radian guys happen to have a spare right-side "Radian" cover and the chrome license plate light cover with the Yamaha logo, aaand you're willing to part with either for less than a small fortune, please let me know :mrgreen:

    I may be bobbing my rear fender in the near future, so I will let you know about the license plate light...
