Hello everyone. I'm just getting into these cool old bikes and have lots of plans for mine, mostly thanks to this site! I have a 82 xj650 in really good condition I got for 300 buck off craigslist unfortunitly the guy didn't have the title but I also got a 81 xj650 parts bike with a title for another 100 bucks. I don't really know much about motorcycles but I'm planing on learning as I go. The two bikes seem to be pretty much the same as far as I can tell. I was hoping to to hardtail the 81 parts bike frame and cutting any unnecessary parts of it, then swapping the running 82 motor and and stuff over. Will this work for me? Thanks

    Howdy all!
this seems like a good place to introduce myself as well.
I just bought my first bike (had my license for several years, but have not had the opportunity until now) Picked it up locally. It doesn't need too much work, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to tear it apart. Especially now that I've discovered this forum and the vast knowledge of the more seasoned vets here.
I hope this is a great experience!
    cheers!
