    Hello XJ Bikes!

Just stopping to say hello. I recently purchased a 1982 Yamaha XJ750 Maxim. I have been searching hi and low for a front fairing and the taller sissy bar. So I figured I would stop here to see if anyone had leads. I also have a spare seat that the previous owner purchased. Not sure why though as it is a stock seat and both are in excellent condition. So yeah I have spare seat if anyone is looking for one.

    But again hi everyone!

The taller backrest is not common, and you'll pay a pretty good penny for one. There were several different options for the fairing....the windjammer, the x-1, some have fitted the seca fairing, you could get the slipstreamer, etc.....

that all said, I have a tall backrest with the cushion for the '82 xj750.........

How much are you asking for the backrest. Also considering what you just said do you know of any universals that would fit? I am only looking for one because my daughter will eventually be riding on the back. It is not so much a look thing or because I plan on strapping anything to it. I already have saddlebags picked out to accomplish that.

I have more questions about the fairing after what you said, but I will research first before asking for more of your time.

Thank you for taking the time to reply!

Send me a pm...I may be persuaded into parting with my fairings, bags and sissy bar (sorry lowers are already gone)!

none of us are interested. we all actually hate XJs. Just kidding! Looks like you've got a good starting point there. Bike doesn't look too abused or neglected.

I actually received the stocks ones with it but have too many dings. But I agree, all the pictures I have seen the stock exhaust looks much better.

The main issue is that spot where they join the collector. Yamaha pipes have an angle upwards there so it snugly fits to the bottom of the passenger peg bracket. This is a spot where I wholeheartedly agree with Hogfiddles... the stock ones just fit right.
